Gendered employment distribution in different occupations is a significant dimension of the gender equality. It is the most generic indicator of female economic disadvantage. Even though women have made substantial progress in economic sphere recently, sex segregation in the workplace remains a fact. Taking the importance of the research on industrial variation in occupational sex segregation as a case in point, this paper contributes to the study of occupational segregation by using a refined occupational classification while analytically studying the factors that shape occupational sex segregation in Sri Lankan labor market.en_US
