Most of the religions emphasized and gave precise explanations on why evil and sufferings are existed and could be seen in the world though the God (the creator) is merciful. This explanatory research was conducted in order to find out the explanations of different religions about evil and sufferings. This review article is based on secondary source of information. Semitic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) and Indian origin religions provide different views on why evil and sufferings occur in this world though they have praised about the illimitable grace of the god. The Semitic religions emphasized that through the evil and sufferings, god destined to offer good things to human beings. On the other hand, Indian origin religions emphasized that human beings suffer due to their Karma.en_US
