Abstract

Islam proposed multiple instructions to preserve the environment that is surrounded by living organisms include biotic and abiotic elements. This research is conducted with the aim of explaining the instructions given by the Islam on preserving the environment and bio diversity. Al-Quran, Al-Hadees and related Islamic sources were used in this study to collect secondary data. The study identified multiple teachings and instructions on preserving the environment and bio diversity. Giving spiritual value to the environment, giving survival value to the environment, enriching the sources of the environment and ensure the safe custody and the protection are the basic concepts of Islam on environment and bio diversity. This research tries to ascertain the above mentioned thoughts and concepts of Islam on environment and bio diversity based on Islamic historical sources.
